Food was ok but quite expensive; 18 for roast beef (that arrived luke warm). Dining area is a nice place to be with river views. Table service was so so; we got bored waiting and went to the bar for our drinks and to settle the tab.

Looks lovely and staff were very nice and helpful but our overall experience was kind of disappointing. All veggie mains contained nuts on the day I was there, I have an allergy so this was an issue and seemed short sighted. Staff were great about checking with the kitchen, sharing the allergen list and in the end I just had a roast without the meat but with extra Yorkshire pudding and veg which was perfectly nice but not very interesting. I also had a mulled wine which was awful - so bad that I took it back for a refund. The ladies loos are tucked in an awkward corner, not a problem for me but difficult if you have any mobility issues as the space between tables too get there is extremely tight. So a mixed experience! Location is great and the dining area is light and sunny.

I had a very disappointing experience with my friend at Boaters yesterday evening. We had booked our table for 8pm and arrived 7.45 to be told that all the vegetarian options were off the menu and also the fish options other than battered fish and chips. There was seabass available but only served with meat.I there was no option for fresh vegetables to be served as a main dish so I eventually agreed advice to accept the roasted main course without meat. My friend reluctantly accepted fish and chips. Both meals were stodgy and with a lot left over which we couldn't eat. We complained and the management gave us 20% discount off the bill and they took the service charge off. But we would have much rather had a meal we could have enjoyed and paid full price.I'm writing this because my experience is that the menu is misleading because the options advertised are not actually available if you go there.

The pub is in a lovely and quiet spot, overlooking the river. Interior decor is nice and comfy. We had fish and chips but we were not very satisfied, being the batter too oily and thick. Chips were better. We also ordered one vegan fish and chips, it was just ok. We would suggest to marinate the tofu as the samphire and seaweed are not strong enough to balance the blandness of a plain tofu. Would definitely not order it again.

A great place in a great location at the end of a stroll through a scenic park. The pub is well presented and the puddings are especially to die for. It can get a bit rowdy, noisy and busy at times but the overall experience is good to want you to come back again.
