I was on a Virgin Media business trip during my stay here. Food was really nice however at my time of stay, the rooms were really outdated and a lot of the facilities (shower system, tv) did not work properly. I was going through a really rough time and had a panic attack and needed some water as the taps were dripping warm, I had to go to reception and the bottled water was 5 which I thought was a bit mad. But, I would actually go back to this hotel again
Went there for their set "Sunday Lunch" which, quite honestly, could have come direct from the freezer! So-called "bruschetta" starter was cold cheese served on French toast taken direct from the packet and the green salad was a few rocket leaves!The main course was no better with re-heated beef in gravy and frozen mixed vegetables. Only saving grace was the roast potatoes, but I think they were also from the freezer. Guess what? The sweets were also straight from the freezer!Service was pleasant enough, but the staff seemed pretty stretched.We won't be repeating the exercise.
Room dcor looks a little tired, especially in the bathroom. The bed was small (not a full double) and saggy in the middle. I asked reception for an extra blanket, only to be told they don't have any. No "do not disturb" sign available on the door, and housekeeping tried to come into our room at 9 am. When we went down for breakfast at 10:20, we were told that breakfast was served from 9 to 10 only (not mentioned during check-in) and we were begrudgingly told we could have what was left of the cold, buffet English breakfast.
Ive stayed here a few times recently, and its always been a great experience. The team are incredibly friendly and professional, the bedroom and hotel generally is always spotlessly clean and with it being dog friendly Lucky loves it too! Thank you for everything so far and congrats on a sometimes very difficult job done exceptionally well.
Extremely helpful staff, excellent customer service all round and lovely rooms. The staff were all very willing to go out of their way to improve your experience and make your stay as comforting and relaxing as possible. Perfect for a short stay before an event!
