Rule #1 about booking flights, trains, hotels, etc.: Make sure the names are correct. The agent I spoke with on the phone and emailed with *never* confirmed our names. I've never used a travel agent before and didn't know she needed them before I went in to pay - I thought details would be finalised then. So I went in to find out that she made a reservation after assuming my daughter's name. I now can't afford my trip because the airline won't allow a slight change of name and airfare has gone up. No other airlines have suitable flights.On top of this, the staff who were there didn't seem to care that the cost of the tickets went up and I'd have to pay 400 extra because of their colleague's mistake. I guess they figure I could go someplace else on holiday instead? Unfortunately not, there was a specific reason for the trip to that place on those dates.
