Really friendly staff, who give advice to people in the gym. Always feel welcome and enjoy the friendly atmosphere
Avoid this Gym at all costs , today i was discriminated against due to my age and tattoos.Walking through reception when old gentleman shouted im not your mate. This was due to him bumping into my friend and my friend saying sorry mate. The older gentleman wouldnt let it drop to which i called the receptionist to get the manager. In the mean time i jumped over the turnstiles to get my friend to forget it and come into the gym and ignore the guy .I tried to reason with the person however no such luck . Then jumped back over turnstiles and waited for the on call manager . Manager VANIA come straight over with agression at me. I said can you help this guy is kicking off and could pos be drunk. She said can you swipe your card again to which i said no i have done it already. She wouldnt listen to me and gave me attitude to which i gave back. In the end a employee called gregg checked and confirmed i had signed in (he listened to me and was helpful and said go have your gym session and they will speak to you after).Vania just went over to the old guy and sat him down and helped him like a victim. I was DISCRIMINATED against due to face tattoos and being younger.After gym session I waited in cafe and ordered 2 teas, another lady come over and said your suspended, i said i would like to explain what happened but she said leave or ill call security.I own 2 businesses on the same high street and feel discusted for how i was treated. Shall be telling all local business owners and kingston first, chamber of commerce to avoid your establishment. I shall also be taking this further with Head office . I want my contract terminated so i can join Virgin active where they will accept me and not discriminate. I shall also be putting this all over twitter and social media and local news of how your employees discriminate.Michael
My friend (who isn't tech savvy, hence me writing the review) went to David Lloyd Kingston for a number of months. Whilst there he thought the facilities and location were superb. Unfortunately he could no longer afford to go so decided to cancel his membership. This was the most unpleasant experience, he was told by staff both in person and on the phone his membership was canceled, only to find they had charged him for the following three months after said cancellation. Once he spoke to the manager, assuming it was a simple mistake and he would be able to get his money back, she told him after 20 minutes of attempting to reason with her that they never give refunds and hung up the phone on him. He didn't receive a refund or even an apology, and the cherry on top, I wrote a Facebook review on their page on his behalf for the Kingston Upon Thames branch, within a day it had been taken down with no explanation.
Absolutely shocking. I thought the staff at the Fulham branch were bad but at least I could speak to them. No ever picks up the phone unless you call the new members number who couldnt seem to care less about getting through to the right person to speak to. Staff on gym floor completely ignore everyone preferring to speak to each other unless theres an attractive female around. Going through reception I never get a greeting and can see first hand phones being ignored unless its their own mobile. The PT sessions are uninspiring and lacking any motivation, trainers are simply there to do their hours and get paid. No investment from them. I wouldnt recommend this or any other David Lloyd club.Since original review I raised my issues with the staff and asked for the club manager to speak with me. Ive had absolutely no contact from either David Lloyd or from the club manager. Really can not say enough how not only disappointed I am but angry at lack of any accountability
Went here today for the first time & was pretty impressed. Im a member of the so called flagship club up the road & I thought that the standards here were far better than what we are used to. The gym equipment was more up to date & was clean. There were staff keeping the gym tidy & putting equipment back. There was even a full set of dumbbells. I will definitely be coming back.
